Le Lou Damou is a luxury chalet, ideally situated in Le Lavancher, between Chamonix-Mont-Blanc and Argentière and a short drive away from the best lifts of the valley. Le Lou Damou is a landmark stone-house, built in the 1930s in the best spot of this calm and idyllic hamlet with panoramic views over the Mont Blanc. 

The interior has been renovated by am designs, combining the original features of the chalet with minimal, warm interior designs. It includes a private spa with indoor pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi to relax after a day of activity.

What we like

Le Lavancher is ideally situated between Chamonix-Mont-Blanc and Argentière. The name ”Lavancher” comes from the exceptional situation of the hamlet at the foot of the pine forest.

Philippe, the charismatic owner of this quirky hotel, can host you for a private dinner in one of his traditional wooden chalets. To be arranged on request with pre-arranged fixed menu.

La Buvette du Chapeau

1 hour walk

For a special evening, walk up from the chalet to the Refuge du Chapeau (approximately 1 hour). You need to be equipped with headlights to walk up and down in the dark (and crampons in winter). Once you've arrived, Thierry will cook simple and heart-warming local food for you. He is also open for lunch all year round. Dinner by reservation only.

Gourmet restaurant at the Jeu de Paume Hotel, located in the heart of Lavancher. In a quiet, cozy and welcoming interior, Belgian chef Eric de Ganck offers an original and inventive cuisine around three themes: The World flavors, Region and Classics. It's the perfect place for a refined lunch or a gastronomic dinner.

A classic brasserie part of the Albert 1er Hotel. You will find an excellent selection of traditional French and Savoyard food (and a fabulous cheese and dessert trolley) in a very cosy alpine setting. The hotel also has a two-star Michelin restaurant.

Le Refuge du Montenvers

10 minutes drive

A high altitude restaurant with cuisine of authentic flavour in a unique setting. Recently taken over by the Sibuet hotelier group (Les Fermes de Marie in Megeve, La Villa Marie in St Tropez, La Cour des Loges in Lyon), this mythical Refuge sits at the bottom of the world renowned glacier La Mer de Glace, reachable with the charming little red train Le Montenvers. Idealistic lunch spot with impressive views.
